Battlefield 6 Gamers Are Convinced: Challenges Are Excessively Difficult
The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered significant enthusiasm, particularly for its premier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. However, regardless of its fanfare, many players are voicing discontent with some of the game's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced using tailored sessions made via the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how demanding these challenges have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four categories of assignments, but although many merely grant skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of obtaining twelve from the forty-one key firearms available in the game.
Some of these locked weapons may soon earn a place on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry on Reddit
Within Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This task is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is highly imprecise and only works at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Extremely Difficult Mission
A different forum member brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to unlock the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles
This is difficult enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at that kind of range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and possibly Operation Firestorm if you're lucky if you want to snipe from over 200m away.
The Workaround
Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, featuring computer-controlled players. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.
However, when completing the missions in a normal session appears to work against fun, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a personal session so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Future Adjustments
It won't come as a surprise if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.
For now, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these challenging multiplayer missions, expecting a more balanced overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
